[TEAC Firmware Updater for the DV-516GA Instruction Manual]

G4S3WIN.EXE is a program to update the firmware of the TEAC 
DV-516GA. 

Precaution:

It is recommended that the user closes all other applications and
remove any disc from the DV-516GA prior to run the update program.

 TEAC takes no responsibility for any trouble caused by using this program
(details are described in the Licensing Agreement). If you do not agree
with this condition, do not execute this program.
 
 After completing the update, please restart the system.

1. Operating environment
   PC-AT compatible PC or equivalent

   Supported Drive  One Unit DV-516GA on Windows 98, 98SE and ME
                    One Unit DV-516GA on Windows 2K and XP

2. Supported Operating Syatems
   Following OSes
       Windows 98
       Windows 98 Second Edition
       Windows ME
       Windows 2000
       Windows XP

3. Precautions in executing this program
3-1. Remove any disc from the DV-516GA before executing this program.
3-2. Do not try to access the drive while update is in process. 
3-3. The firmware update may not work properly while other application
     and utility are to run. 
     In this case, you must first disable or close the other application
     before starting this program.
3-4. G4S3WIN.EXE requires administrator privileges 
     to run under Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

4. Operating procedure
4-1. Please make sure no disc inside of DV-516GA before the program start.
4-2. Double-clicking the icon of G4S3WIN.EXE.
4-3. Once the program finds the target drive (DV-516GA), the pop-up window
     will be displayed. Click "Yes" to continue the update or click "No" 
     to exit the program.

     Warning:
     Exit Windows Explorer and all the active applications beforehand.

     NEVER turn off the power of your PC or drive, shut Down the system, 
     Or go into Standby mode while executing this program.
     Do not force termination of the Operating system, terminate a task 
     while executing the program. 

4-4. The next pop-up window will be displyed. If you confirm that the 
     target drive is found,click "Update !" button to continue, or click
     "Close" to exit. 
     

4-5. Once the update starts, the Bar indication becomes 100% then the drive
     LED starts flashing for approx. 30 seconds. 
     After the program completes the update correctly, 
     "Firmware has been updated successfully !" will be displayed.
     Click "OK" button.
     
     The following message will be displayed to ask you to reboot the system.
     "Your computer needs to be rebooted"
     Click "Now" button. 

     If you continue operation without restart,the system may become 
     unstable or hang.
